of Newcastle, NSW, for the April-
May School Holidays, then Liverpool Catholic Club, Sydney, Castle Hill, and booked Rosehill Racecourse for the June/July Holidays.
THE GREAT MOSCOW
CIRCUS
Two motor-bike riders crashed in the Globe of Death at The Great Moscow Circus in Perth, at the Saturday night show, April 6th, last item on the program. Jasper Gomez says he lost a gear-change and fell, injuring an ankle. Wallison Muh, underneath, damaged
an elbow. Both were taken to hospital: Jasper was back in next day, Wal The day after. The Great Moscow Circus played Geraldton for the Easter school holidays, followed by Carnarvon in early May, heading “over the top” towards Darwin for next holidays.
CIRCUS RIO
Program features trapeze act, The Bendrev Team (an offshoot of the famous Flying Cranes), Russian hand- balancer Ruslan, rola-bola performer Yanel (he rated highly in France’s Got Talent), and clown-manager Yuri, previously seen in New Zealand with Weber Bros. Glamorous Big Top, well-lit, bridges out well on grassy lots.
ZIRK
Longtime producer and entrepreneur Andrew Guild is bringing a Russian- themed international circus, Zirk, to Australia in June.
It features a double-double giant wheel (first time here), Russian clown Dmitry Shindov, Rubstov acrobat troupe, Globe, tramp and juggling, under a Big Top.
Andrew is well-known from former productions with Michael Edgley, and circus and ballet here and overseas.
Opens Canberra Showground, June 14, Sydney Showring July 5.
He says it combines 140- year Russian circus tradition with 21st century audience expectations.
Manly end of April, then Cessnock, Newcastle, Raymond Terrace, St Ives, Hawkesbury May-June, Wagga Wagga and Canberra. Anything but ruff, the cute canines at Weber’s Circus.

Now in Australia for almost two years, Circus Rio offers Latin-American samba dancers, international acts and glamorous production. Audiences say the music and dancing are infectious, Rio de Janeiro style. Show has toured Queensland, NSW and Victoria.
