It gives you the power to make a difference. Further, it improves the lives of people around you which also improves your life, indirectly. Making the world a safer, more harmonious place containing more happy people is good for you.
Compassion and love are about recognising more than just our similarities and equality; they are also about truly seeing your wellbeing and wealth as inextricably connected to that of others.
And in perpetual cycle, we can more naturally find the energy and motivation to give out of our own emotional or spiritual prosperity when we find ourselves happy and nurtured in loving community.
