Four players from state- nalist Aledo Ladycats earn all-state, rst-team status; Johnson selected top Region I coach

The Class 5A, state nalist Aledo Ladycats’ memorable soccer season got an additional boost when four players were selected by the Texas Association of Soccer Coaches all- state rst team.
And in a season of program rsts that include a regional champion-
ship, state-tournament quali ca- tion and an appearance in the state championship match, this is the rst time the Ladycats have swept all four rst-team positions in all-state voting.
Also, TASCO has chosen Ladycats’ head coach Bryan Johnson as the Region I Coach of the Year.
Aledo senior Peyton Laughley was selected as the all-state, rst team forward; senior Cameron Huddleston was voted as the rst- team mid elder; junior Kristen Burns was chosen the rst-team defender; and Makenzie Covington earned rst-team honors at goal- keeper.

Aledo Ladycats’ head coach Bryan Johnson was selected Region I Coach of the Year by the Texas Association of Soccer Coaches. Johnson guided the Ladycats to the program’s first-ever regional cham- pionship and state finals appear- ance.
