Policy 224: Employee Vehicle Accident
 OBJECTIVE:
          Any time an employee is involved in a vehicle accident while on duty, a drug screening is required within 24 hours.
    RESPONSIBLE PARTY:
PROCEDURAL STEPS:
Employee
     When an employee is on duty and in an accident, the employee must immediately inform their supervisor and Human Resources so that a drug test can be scheduled, and HR Director will notify the CEO and COO that an accident has occurred.
Employee must remain at the scene and exchange information with other parties. Retain copies of any documents shared at the scene. Take note if any party involved is issued a ticket for the accident.
Branch Director provides employee with ‘Forensic Drug Testing Custody and Control Form’ provided by Quest Diagnostics to each Branch. Employee must collect both the Employer and Donor copies after completed by the Lab. Employer copy is to be submitted to Human Resources on the next business day. Donor copy is for the employee’s record. When this form is utilized, the screening will be charged to BGCS account and no payment will be required at the time of service.
Employee results will be provided to Human Resources and treated with strict confidentiality. The report will only share if employee passes or fails drug screen. Human Resources will inform employee of results and next steps. Human Resource will update supervisor and COO of pass/fail status of screen.
    FREQUENCY/TIMING:
Within 24 hours of employee accident.
