6. Safety regulations
6.1 Class 0 boats must have an LOA between 7.2 and 12.2 metres and
rate between 1.130 and 1.600. Entries may be accepted from boats
outside these parameters at the discretion of the Race Committee.
6.2 Classes 0,1, 2shall comply with ISAF Offshore Special Regulations
Category 5 and with these Category 4 regulations -
3.14 Lifelines, 3.24 Navigation Lights, 3.29 Marine band radio and 4.23 Mo
Mu Flares, (2 red hand held, 2 orange smoke).
6.3 All other boats must comply with their class rules, carry two red/
orange hand flares and adequate personal buoyancy for all crew
members.
6.4 For all races sailed under IRC, the IRC Rules 2017 Parts A, B and
C shall apply, except that IRC Rule 22.4.2 will not apply. There will be
no limitations on crew number or weight except as required
Boats rated as one designs, shall comply with IRC Rule 22.4.1.
6.5 IRC Rating Bands Burnham Week 2017
There will be one IRC class and the rating bands for all IRC Classes will be
notified to each competitor by an amendment to the Sailing Instructions and
will be displayed on the Burnham web site and at Burnham Week Office prior
to the first race.
