Unit 6: Architecture and
Design
Architectural designers are artistic, technically driven people who apply their skills to the design
of buildings. Architects need specific education and training, as well as licensure, to work in the
field. My grandpa was an architect and engineer. He built most of the schools in Indiana back in
the 1960’s – 1980. Back then…school were like factories. Not today! If he were alive, he
would be designing more interesting looking and functioning buildings!
