SAMANTHA AND THE RAT
Rebecca Wanjiru, 7
One Bright Sunny Day, Rebecca was walking her cat. Her name was Samantha. They were playing fetch. They played till mum called them. She had called them for lunch.
Outside, a fat rat was busy burrowing for food in the grass. It was very green grass. Rebecca let her cat out. The cat was strolling when he spotted the fat rat. He got angry that the rat was destroying her grass. He started chasing the rat round the house. The rat got lost. But Samantha knew the home very well. So she caught the rat and ate him.
Rebecca came out and found Samantha not there. She followed her voice and found her eating.
She called the other children out and they started celebrating that the rat had finally been caught and their grass will be safe.
Siku Moja Jua ilipokuwa inawaka, Rebecca alikuwa anapeleka paka yake matembezi. Jina la paka lilikuwa Samantha. Walikuwa wanacheza. Walicheza hadi mama yao alipowaita wakale chakula cha mchana.
Nje ya nyumba yao, panya mnono alikuwa anachimba shimo kwa nyasi akitafuta chakula. Nyasi ilikuwa ya rangi ya kijani kibichi. Rebecca akaachilia paka yake huko nje. Paka alikuwa akitembea alipoona yule panya mnono. Paka alikasirika sana kuona panya akiharibu nyasi ya Samantha. Akaanza kumkimbiza humo nyumbani. Panya akatoweka. Samantha naye alikua anaijua nyumba vizuri sana kwa hivyo akashika panya na akamla.
Rebecca alipotoka nje hakumwona Samantha. Akafuata sauti yake akampata akila.
Akawaita watoto wengine wakaanza kushangilia kwamba panya alikuwa amekamatwa na nyasi haingeharibiwa tena.
