THE DRAGON WHO DESTROYED ALL THE TREES Yannis Muchina, 8
Once upon a time, there lived a big, scary dragon. This dragon lived in a beautiful forest which had lots of trees.
The lush, green trees would bring a lot of rain to the forest, and when it was raining, the dragon could not breathe any fire. He hated the trees.
One day the dragon asked his master what he should do to keep breathing fire.
“Wait for a sunny day, when your fire is very powerful. Then burn all the trees. If there are no trees, there will be no rain, and you will never run out of fire to breathe.” The master told the dragon.
So, he waited. One morning he woke up, and the sun was shining bright. With an evil gleam in his eyes, he set out, and reduced the beautiful forest to a pile of ashes.
All the trees were destroyed. The forest turned into an ugly wasteland. The uglier, and hotter the place became, the more powerful the dragon’s fire became.
Kisha uchome miti yote. Pasipokuwa na miti, mvua haitanyesha, na moto wako hautawahi isha nguvu”, mkuu akaliambia joka.
Basi akangoja. Asubuhi moja alipoamka jua ilikuwa imechomoza.
Miti yote iliteketea. Msitu ukabadilika kuwa jangwa.
