Abraham Lincoln had faithfully and diligently responded
to GOD’s call to administer HIS plan to restore the
dignity and rights of millions of slaves. Just as with Israel,
GOD had long heard their prayers and knew their
immense sufferings. In Matt Lockett and Will Ford III’s
book, “The Dream King”, Will Ford documents a moving
and painfully touching account that had been passed
down to him through generations. His ancestors were
forbidden to assemble in groups, and forbidden to
worship GOD (slave masters didn’t want them to hold
hope). So, they would muffle their prayers under an old
blackened wash pot as they worshiped together. In
response, GOD sent them Abraham Lincoln. He changed
the course of American history from shame to hope.

The Assassination of President Lincoln – America’s
greatest President had only a few short months to
celebrate his re-election, enjoy his many successes, and
plan for leading America through reconstruction. He
was assassinated on April 14, 1865. This occurred just 8
days after General Lee’s surrender marked the end of
America’s bloody Civil War.
