code were halted by President Trump when he ordered
the IRS to cease all efforts to remove the tax-exempt
status of churches who engage in political discourse or
            advocacy.

In addition to 501(c)(3), the Democratic Party has been
championing a new law that will have significant impacts
on religious freedom as originally envisioned in the US
Constitution. On May 17, 2019 the US House of

            Representatives passed the “Equality” Act (H.R. 5) [9-12] .
This far reaching law was immediately blocked in the
Grand Old Party (hereafter referred to as GOP)
controlled Senate where it is now stalled in Senate
committee. If this Bill becomes law, churches will no
longer be free to teach the true Biblical Word. Under
501(c)(3) churches could lose tax exempt status.
However, under the provisions of the Equality Act
(H.R.5) [9-12] , churches could be held criminally liable for

failure to comply with its edicts for embracing gender
            neutrality and sexuality.

Constitutionally, neither the Johnson Amendment nor

the “Equality Act” should ever withstand the test of
legality. Both laws enable government regulation of
church discourse. The US Constitutions says
“Government shall make no law respecting the
establishment of religion, nor interfering with the free
            practice thereof.”

It is likely that a strict constitutionalist court would strike
down the validity of both of these laws. However,
progressive judges will likely rule to nullify the “non-
