 Motor Claims Procedures
  10. STOLEN AND RECOVERED VEHICLES
10.1 As soon as you are notified of a stolen/hijacked and recovered vehicle claim: All stolen/hijacked and recovered vehicles (including mandated claims) must be reported within 2 (TWO) days after first notification of loss.
10.1.1 complete notification process through the Hollard Procurement Pages website. https://procurement.hollard.co.za/Hollard_PP/Login.aspx within 2 (two) days after first notification of loss. Provide a copy of the vehicle registration certificate as required for upliftment purposes.
10.1.1.1 Should sufficient information not be available to submit the notification, contact the SVR Department on 011 351-1441 or email HollardInsureStolenVehicle@hollard.co.za for guidance.
10.1.2 Hollard has an internal Stolen Vehicle Recovery (SVR) team.
10.1.3 They are responsible for the upliftment of all Hollard stolen and recovered vehicles (Claim support).
10.1.4 They will instruct an accredited service provider who is a specialist in the upliftment of stolen and recovered vehicles.
10.1.5 The SVR team will assist by completing the required document in terms of their SLA with the South African Police Services (SAPS) and the Insurance Crime Bureau.
10.1.6 They will coordinate and assist with the upliftment process which includes the identification, issue of SAP VIN numbers, microdotting, police clearance, etc.
10.1.7 The Insurance Crime Bureau and Hollard have an agreement with the SAPS with regards to the upliftment and release of stolen and recovered vehicles.
10.1.8 Why is the upliftment process important? The process is not complete when the vehicle is released from the pound. The microdotting and police clearance follow after the upliftment to complete the process. The insured will not be able to renew his vehicle licence when it is due for renewal when the police clearance is not done. The status on E-Natis is stolen.
10.1.9 The vehicles for pre-settlement claims are delivered to a Hollard approved panel beater when it is a possible repair or SMD (Salvage Management and Disposal) when it is a possible write-off.
