Welcome to the 5th Edition of

                     the AUCSO Newsletter.

Hi everyone, and welcome to the 5 Edition of the AUCSO Newsletter.
                                             th

I hope you all managed to get to the end of term in one piece and are able to have a break before the
start of the next academic year.

In this edition we have highlighted many of the positives taken from our conference at Leeds
University. There have been many articles circulating in both the HE and Security media outlets
over the last few months with many attendees, speakers, visitors and exhibitors saying it was one
of the best conferences they have ever attended.

Having a successful conference for our members is one of the main priorities of the AUCSO Exec
team and I am glad that those who attended have been nice enough to pass on their thanks to us,
and apart from Chelsea Football Club, everything in life can be improved upon, so please feel free
to reach out with any comments you would like to share.

We recently ran our latest AUCSO webinar, looking at the Safety of Women at Night. You can read
about this on below as well as putting dates in your diary for the future webinar programme.

We have 4 new members of the Exec team and we will be added a new feature to the newsletter
where we can get to know the Exec team a little better, so in this edition we have asked Gary Stephen
(Scotland) and Nigel Ward (London) some quick questions to find out what they are really like!
Wow! That’s all I have to say!

I wish to take the oppurtunity to thank everyone for your contributions for this newsletter. Please
let me know all of your Good News Stories, whether it be staff recognition, a new innovation, an
award, an effective partnership, a new stater, a leaver you’d like to acknowledge, a special event or
anything else you would like to show to the rest of the association so that we can all learn and
appriciate the great work undertaken across our membership. Simply send me an email (with the
details and at least one photo) to vice-chair@aucso.org
