AUCSO Webinars return looking at
Safety of Women at Night
The next bout of AUCSO webinars returned
in June with a look into the subject of the
Safety of Women at Night. Led by Vice-Chair
Oliver Curran, we had 2 excellent guest
speakers who spoke about the work they do
to highlight and tackle this issue which
affects many members of our communities.
Our first guest speaker was Saskia Garner,
Head of Policy & Campaigns at the Suzie
Lamplugh Trust. Saskia’s work covers
research and policy advocacy across a range
of personal safety issues including lone working, stalking, harassment and bystander
intervention. Our second guest speaker was Chief
Inspector Mark Hedges, the Police District
Commander for Canterbury in Kent. Mark has
over 26 years’ experience in Policing working for
Kent Police.
