Dear Delegates, Exhibitors and Guests

It is my great pleasure, on behalf of our Executive Committee, to welcome you to the Association of
University Chief Security Officers (AUCSO) 37th Conference, hosted by Heriot-Watt University.

As we are all aware the delivery of our services in Tertiary Education Security is subject to constant
change and new challenges. None of us can afford to ignore the variety of new threats to our sector
and individual institutions, with that in mind the theme of our Conference this year is focussed on
‘The Changing Face of Security in Higher and Further Education’.

Our Conference will commence on the evening of 18th April with a welcome evening and exhibitors
fair in the conference centre with food and drinks available. For the plenary sessions on the 19th
and 20th we will have and exciting programme of expert speakers with options of attending
breakout sessions to suit varying interests. For the first time we will also have a specific venue for
sponsors and exhibitors to showcase their products and services to delegates on a continuous
programme throughout the conference.

This year we have engaged with many new exhibitors, as well as established sponsors of AUCSO,
supplying services to our sector, giving you opportunities to explore new ideas and innovations.
We know that technology and support services in the security sector develop at a rapid pace and I
encourage you to engage with all of our exhibitors and sponsors to maximise the overall Conference
experience.

Our social networking event at Edinburgh Castle is certain to be one of the most exciting highlights
of ACUCSO events and we finish off our Conference with our Gala Dinner and Awards Event at
Edinburgh’s historic Signet Library.

Why not extend your stay in Edinburgh to explore the multitude of attractions and history of this
wonderful city, and go beyond to be delighted by the spectacular scenery and culture of Scotland,
one of the most beautiful countries in the world

I hope you all have a wonderful time at our 37th Conference and take advantage of the opportunities
to make new friends and create alliances with your peers.
