University teacher shot dead

A teacher of the historic Islamia
College University (ICU) was
shot dead by a security guard
over a petty issue. Both the
teacher and security guard had
also exchanged hot words a
month ago over an unknown
issue.
After exchange of hot words, the
teachers had approached the
director security of the
university, asking him to transfer
the security guard to avoid the
any untoward incident in future.

Student says he was 'beaten'

by campus security guards
A video of a brawl between campus security at
the University of Fort Hare and a BCom student
who was trading has gone viral on social media.

Mbuso Khoza, who is also a part-time trader, was
selling hot chips in a parking lot near the Alice
campus when the incident occurred.

The incident, which took place on Saturday in
Alice in the Eastern Cape, has drawn widespread
criticism from fellow UFH students who have
started a #HelpMbuso platform on social media,
with several student marches taking place to
support the young man.
