Andrew Martinez is hands down the best coach a debater could have. Every day, without fail for four years, Andrew took the pressure away from competitions by making jokes and acting like my father when
I was away from home. My favorite memory of Andrew was when he put on big hoop earrings and told the whole team that we were doing amazing. Every time I won an award at a competition, Andrew would be there cheering me on. When I was sad or upset, he would tell me, "Drink water, because you can't cry and drink water at the same time." I’m lucky to have had Andrew as my coach for four years,
and I'm even luckier to have him as a friend for life.
