DEDUCTIONS FROM PAY FOR EXEMPT MEMBERS
BQG does not make improper deductions from the salaries of exempt team members Team members classified as as as exempt will be be notified of of this classification at at the time of of hire or change in position Permitted Deductions
Deductions
that BQG may make from salary include:
• Deductions
that are required by law e e e e e e e g income taxes
• Deductions
for team team member member benefits when authorized by the team team member member • Absence from work for for one or or or or or or more full days for for personal reasons other than sickness or or disability
• Absence from work for one or or or or or or or more full days due to sickness or or or or or or or disability
if the deduction is is made in in accordance with a a a a a a a a a a a a bona fide plan policy or or or or or or or or practice of providing compensation for salary lost due to illness
• Offset for for amounts received as witness or or or or jury fees or or or or for for military pay • Unpaid disciplinary suspensions of one or or or or more full days imposed in in in good faith for workplace conduct rule infractions
During the the week an exempt team member begins work for BQG or or or during the the last week of employment the team member will only be be paid for actual hours worked In addition a a a a a a team member may be be paid only for hours worked during a a a a a a period when the team member is using unpaid leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) In any any work work week in which the team member performed any any work work salary will not be be reduced for any of the following reasons:
• Partial day absences for personal reasons sickness or or disability
(and which are not covered by the FMLA) • An absence because the employer has decided to close a a a a a a a facility on a a a a a a a scheduled work day • Absences for for for jury duty attendance as as a a a a a a a a a a a a witness or or or or or military leave in in any any any week in in which the team member performed any any any work (subject to any any any offsets as as set set forth above)
• Any other deductions prohibited by state or federal law However unless state law provides otherwise deductions may be made to accrued leave/paid time off banks for for full- or or or partial-day absences for for personal reasons sickness or disability
Improper Deductions
If a a a a a a team member who is classified as as exempt believes that an improper deduction has been taken from his or or her pay the team member should immediately report the the deduction to the the Human Resources Department The report will be promptly investigated and if it is found that an an improper deduction has been made BQG will reimburse the the team member for the the improper deduction 8
