• Sharing of fuel card with unauthorised parties
• Purchasing fuel on Company fuel card for other vehicles
• Suspicious volume of fuel purchases i.e. excessive fuel purchases that does not closely reflect actual
mileage/ MPG or multiple fuel transaction in a single day that does not align with personal or business
mileage undertaken
• Malicious misrepresentation i.e. numerous unquantifiable trips over a consistent period that cannot be
evidenced or accounted for
• Sharing a journey with another colleague and both colleagues claiming business mileage
• False mileage totals for business journey – i.e. recording a journey as more mileage than actually completed
• Logging of private mileage as business mileage
• Attempt to claim for fuel purchased that has already been reimbursed
Alleged intentional fraudulent activity on a colleagues TMC record will be considered as Gross Misconduct, and
colleagues will be subject to formal disciplinary process.
