Picnic By tke Bay

On January 27, 2002, the Carrollton community joined together at the Barat
Campus. The day began at 8 a.m. with a fun run in honor of the anniversary.
Alumnae, parents, teachers and students participated by running or walking.
That afternoon everyone returned to Carrollton for a Mass by the bay said by
Father Vallee. During the homily he spoke about the importance of education. He
explained that education is more than passing tests. It is a love for learning, a
passion, a will, a meaning, spirit, soul, devotion, ambition and most of all heart.
These are the elements .which make a student special and bring out her very best.
It is the drive to know more and the thirst for knowledge, truth, love and justice
that Sacred Heart education strives to instill in its students.
After Mass, students and their families enjoyed a picnic on the field. There was
jazz, cotton candy, birthday cake, popcorn, lemonade, cookies, games and a
tribute to the seniors which was a display of pictures of them throughout their
high school years at Carrollton.
