Sister Cooke’s exuberant and lively personality permeates the
Carrollton c'ommunity. She has a generosity of spirit and
tremendous compassion. She has taught us to walk with dignity
and pride and to be open to the love of God. Sister Cooke was not
new to the Carrollton community when she returned as Head
mistress in 1998. She was Administrative Assistant to the Head
mistress and an American History and religion teacher for grades
three, four and eight from 1.976-1977. Later, she returned as Dean
of Students in the High School frorrtT980 to 1985 and during that
time she also taught religion classes.
Upon her return in 1998,Shequickly began working toward her
vision for Carrollton’s future. She worked with a host of people to
create a master plan for the campus, and the community greeted
the final plans with great enthusiasm.
One could not think of designing a yearbook that features
technology without dedicating it to Sister Cooke. She has spent
much time and energy introducing the “Anytime, Anywhere
Learning” program. Laptops and LAN cards are part of our daily
lives. She has organized many workshops so that the community
can become comfortable relying fully on their computers. Teachers
have all begun to implement technology use in their curricula.
As we grow older and become women of the Sacred Heart we
Could not have asked for a better role model. We wish to thank
Sister Cooke for her commitment to our school, and for this reason,
the yearbook staff dedicates the 2001 -2002 yearbook to Sister
• Cooke. This is just a small token of our affection which will never-
equal what she has given us. Thank you Sister Cooke!
