It is with deep feeling, dear Mother, that I write these first lines to you since you set o ff for this almost
extraordinary mission o f taking your little band so far from us...The constancy o f our desires, the ease
with which this project apparently so difficult, was carried out when the time marked by Providence had
come, the way in which everything worked together to make possible this departure, so costly to our
hearts, finally, the strength which God gave you to overcome every obstacle, all this proves to me that
the Lord calls you to found a house o f the Sacred Heart in America.
