                                                   Amidst activities and speakers the senior class experienced its last High
                                                 School retreat. It was held on October 9 and 10 at the Archdiocese Youth
                                                 Center. The retreat allowed the class to express their concerns and hopes
                                                 for school, friendships, and college.
                                                   This year the speakers ranged from a  former Carrollton teacher, a
                                                 youth center leader, a psychotherapist, a priest and a  member of the
                                                 senior class. Students benefited from the'talks given. Katie Branchini,  *
                                                 senior, commented, "Kamala McKlintock and Paul Griffen made us think
                                                 and reflect in an entertaining way. T^igir. talk-allowed us to consider how
                                                 much we had changed since the beginning of our Catrollton education."
                                                 Katie also approved in having a senior talk to the .class. She further said,
                                                 "Lreglly enjoyed Denise Moreno's candle reflection on the Holy Spirit. The
                                                 prayer ^showed me how unijed our class really is." The candle reflection

                                                 stressed1the point that for ’tire rest of senior yckrr'.the class should become
                                                 more unified so that they can accomplishmbte positive goals. By doing
                                                 this they will shine and will make their)presence more like a candle. As
                                                 Denise Moreho stated, ,'when the seniors *l4afyte, ’their light will still be pre­
                                                 sent at Carrollton and withirlcdl of them
                                                   There werp'also many activities ’such as class discussions that .dealt
                                                 with,- graduating; and 'leaving 'school. One* activity that the seniors were
                                                 abjle to-.tellih.eir classmates how they helped-and hurt them. As Carmen
                                                 Tudelal s$niot, prjtt it^thf game gaYa me the chance to reminisce on past
                                                 years.'This allowecLipne ,to tell my friends what I thought about them, and
                                                 provided nie witlft’-the; opportunity, to get issues out in the open and help

                                                 seniors to strengthen their bonds Of friendship. As Vangie Delgado, senior,
                                                 ■says "This retreat'was,mefbe^t pne we have had. As a whole we shared a
                                                 .lot of time together an$ I Mamed that we are a truly unified class."
