On the weekend of January 24th and 25th,  2004,  the Carrollton community gathered to celebrate
         Carrollton's 42nd Anniversary.  On Saturday the 24th,  the 3rd annual "Run for Fun" took place at the
         Barat Campus at 8:00 A.M.  Participants could choose either th^ 5k run through the Grove or the 1  mile
         walk around the Barat Campus, where they could take in the beauty of Biscayne Bay.  All proceeds went fj
         benefit Coconut Grove Cares and the Barnyard After School Program.
                 The first runner to cross the finish line was Mark Leffin,  husband of third grade teacher Mrs.  Leffiji
         at the  Intermediate School.  His time was an impressive 20:10.  He was closely followed by the first woman
         Veronica Barbosa,  the first Carrollton student,  6th grader Amanda Dagnin,  and first High School student,
         sophomore Caroline Darmody.  The first teacher to cross the finish line was  High School History teacher  j:
         Mr.  Hacker, and the first father-daughter team was 6th grader Clare Moody and her father.                IJ
                 Among the  many Carrollton community participants were the varsity soccer team,
         who trained for their upcoming  District Championship by walking p e  1  mile.  "This
         was such a rewarding experience",  said Christine Ronan,  a high school i student.
         "And,  it helped the soccer team stay in shape!" added fellow team member
         Anna Baez.
                 The Run for Fun was a success despite the cold weather in the
         morning.  Caroline Darmody,  High School runner and member of the
         Varsity Cross Country and Track teams stated,  "This was one of the
         coldest races I've ever run,  but I  had a lot of fun!"
                The following day, at the  Barat campus,  the first ever
         Carrollton County Fair took place.  The fair proved to be an imme-l
         diate success, drawing a crowd of hundreds of Carrollton students,:
         families, alumnae,  and friends.  There were food booths with fair
         favorites including corn dogs,  snow cones, and cotton candy.  Each
         grade sponsored their own booth with different games such as  Bingo
         and Basketball.  There was even a bake-off where participants entered  I
        their favorite deserts and recipes,  in the afternoon,  Carrollton student^
        showed off their talent by performing in the talent show for all to $ee.
