[ For the week of March 1st, 2004 artwork by Carrollton students from I
the Primary, Intermediate, Junior High, and High School was showcased I
throughout El Jardin. Upon entering, visitors were greeted by an archway I
of African masks made by the sixth graders. Various themes were dis
played throughout the campus, transforming the Intermediate school into a|
(whirlwind of colors. Each grade specialized in projects, showing their talent]
through their work. The first graders explored texture by using plaid designs
for their animal drawings, and symmetry through their self portraits. The
second grade made connections between lines and patterns and were inspire]
by Georgia O Keefe's giant flowers. The third grade sculpted "Hot Dog" pet:
adorned with bowls and leashes as well as drawing wacky concentric circles.
[The fourth grade painted colorful self portraits, beautiful trees, and animals
The fifth grade concentrated on black and white self portraits as well as
perspective sketches. The sixth grade watercolored their profile along with
words that describe themselves surrounding their portraits. They also createt
Ufrican masks. The Junior High made papier mache people, memory boxes,
tie-dyed cloths and still lifes, while the High School focused on drawing,
painting, and photography. It was a fantastic way of expressing themselves
