Anrfxcerpt from the Senior Farewell Speech
An ancient Chinese proverb states, "Teachers open the door, but you must enter yourself."
Due to the fact that your class is one of the brightest classes to have ever graced Carrollton's hallways,
1am sure that you will take the initiative to enter many doors yourselves and achieve your many goals. Your
class is filled with stars. Among you, 1 see several of our future doctors, a model likely to grace the cover of
Vogue, a brilliant chemist destined to win the Nobel Prize; Saturday Night Live's next cast member and the first
female President of the United States. Your natural talents and the knowledge instilled in you by your teachers,
administrators and peers during your duration at Carrollton are a sure formula for success when added to your
determination.
Your class's accomplishments have been numerous. From one of the funniest Freshman Follies we have
ever seen, to an incredible Conge and a remarkable prom, you never seemed to fail to surpass our expectations.
We know you will continue to make us proud with your numerous accomplishments and even though you are all
leaving on your own separate paths, we ask that you please come back and visit.
Carrollton has an unprecedented sense of community that you are forever a part of. You have made bonds
here that I hope you will keep forever, and as the leaders of the school, you are loved and admired by all your peers.
We cannot wait to hear about your many achievements.
Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, "What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared
to what lies within us." Though your High School career lies behind you now, and college lies before you, within
each and every one of you is the courage, the confidence, the intelligence, and the determination to achieve each
and every one of your goals. We wish you the best of luck in the future and will always love and remember you as
the class of 2004.
