TEC H O is a youth-led non-profit organization present in Latin America and the
Caribbean. Through the joint work o f families living in extreme poverty and. youth
volunteers, T E C H O seeks to overcome poverty in these slums. Once families have
better living conditions, TEC H O provides them with employment opportunities to help
them overcome poverty.
Carrollton is the first high school in the
United States to participate with the
Organization, TEC H O .
This past September, dub members flew
to Peru for a weekend and stayed at the
„ . community school where they slept on tne
floor with sleeping bags. "By the end o f the trip w e learned to appreciate everything we have
arid not take our lives for granted."
Club members are fundraising for their next trip when they will build a transitional home for a
family in need..

BEDSIDE BUDDIES

The Bedside Buddies Club at Carrollton was founded this year by Genesis Diaz Anselmi
17* The dub hosts monthly parties for the patients at the Nicklaus Children's Hospital. The
parties cater to patients o f all ages and the. party themes varied from Disney Adventure
to Movie Spectacular. The Bedside Buddies Club hosts the parties in a "medical-free
zone, creating a safe, welcoming, and fun environment for the patients and their guests.
