For the second year inarow, Carrollton High School students enthusiastically participated in the Faipehild Tropical
Challenge. In the fall, JadeT$.mvn designed a beautiful dress for the Botanical Fashion Show under-'the tutelage of Mrs.
Sanchez while Mrs. Tepevac’s chance students performed for "The Power of Plants" competition. W ith the help of the
English Department and Mr. Lee’s ftndmce^one hundred and fifty students wrote^&pimon papers on environmental
issues and the top three were selected for submixwnoTamkildJTke-autkffiCof the selected papers were Rose Hays,
Jennifer Villa and Claudia T eran. Jennifer Villa’s paper on organic farming received honorable mention. In January,
Ms. Randall accompanied four of her debaters (Lauren Sisak, Andrea Juncadella, Anasofia Roig-Novo and Feril
Sausi) to Fairchild for a debate competition. In the spring, six students submitted either sculptures or watercolors for the
"Native Plants of South Florida" competition under the guidance of Ms. Weisen and Ms. Braznell. Francesca Morello,
Elizabeth Reyes and Maria Garcia-Lujan received honorable mention for their work. Together our students and faculty
earned the 2007 Fairchild Challenge Award together with a $200 prize.
