By: Andrea Delgado' 18 and Olivia Osie119
"A personal and active faith in God" is the fi rst of Five Goals of Sacred Heart Education, and a core Carrollton value.
Campus Ministry, helps nurture this Goal by providing opportunities for spiritual growth. Under the direction of Ms. Ana
De Armas and Mrs. Consi Panzer, members participate in Tres Bi.en meetings, service projects, prayer breaks, Eucharistic
Ministry, and retreats.
Tres Bien meetings, conducted in the High School and led by campus ministers, are a way for students to reflect and
disconnect from their hectic lives. Campus Ministry members also engage in monthly service projects throughout
the greater Miami community and in-school service, which involves tutoring younger students and conducting prayer
breaks. Prayer Breaks are presentations that engage the community in an active faith through different forms of reflection.
Campus Ministry also leads Carrollton retreats for students from Seventh through Twelfth grades. .
This year, Campus Ministry has united the Carrollton community through the Laudato si’ presentation in the High School,
which informed students and faculty about the second encyclical of Pope Francis. Another initiative is Shape Thy Selfie,
a project that helps students to strengthen both the mind and body by taking walks around the campuses together.
Campus Ministry also conducts Pray by the Bay activities, in which students reflect on their relationship with God arid
connect to His creation.
"Campus Ministry has allowed me to spread my faith to many members of the Carrollton community, including my
Sacred Heart sisters in the grades below me. It has instilled a strong sense of community throughout the high school,"
said Maria Madiedo, a Senior Campus. Minister
