Spring Sports Candids
Spring sports begins during the last
trimester of the year. Students have the
opportunity in four different sports:
Tennis, Waterpolo, Softball, and Track
and Field. By having these wide selec
tions of sports, students are able to
engage in diverse activities.
The tennis team had a successful
season with a record of 9-1 making it
their best season yet. There is a good
outlook for next year because the team
is very young and they are only losing
one senior.
Water polo started their season with
some difficulties because they had no
pool or coach. A pool was found and
coach Marcus led the team. The team
finally regrouped, and they hope for a
better season next year.
The softball team, for the second year
in a row, captured the district title and
advanced to regionals
The Track and Field team went ahead
to winning districts for the first time and
qualified 16 girls to regionals, and then
from there, 6 cyclones made it to the
state championships. Sophomore Nani
Ruiz made Carrollton history when she
became state champion in pole vault.
