BRAIN STRESS & PRICKLE HABITS
As I explained when you visited, I sometimes use a different name for
stress responses – I call them ‘Prickle Habits’! Even adults get a bit prickly
sometimes – I bet you have seen that! (Sorry, Scott!).
You explained that you can sometimes find it hard to ‘catch the prickle’ and
let someone know what isn’t ok for you.
Do you hide and freeze? Do you avoid? Do you run?
Do you throw? Do you mask or bury?
I’m I’m
scared!
We talked about noticing our ‘Prickle Habits’ – this is the first step to feeling
and doing better.
You recognised your prickle habits as fight or flight. Just knowing that is a
great first step! The next step is to practise ‘catching the prickle’! There is
more information about this on the practice pages.
