4. Prickle Catching Strategy:
Practise a strategy for ‘catching the prickle’ and self-soothing,
rather than letting the unpleasant feeling control you.
Work with your Dad to rehearse events which make you feel
very prickly. Imagine you are at school and a teacher is being
really rude to you. What reaction would be best for you?
Practise ‘catching the prickle’. What strategy could you use?
Once you are calm, practise explaining your unmet need and
what would help you feel better. Think through the 5C Needs.
