Ways to keep feelings and energy steady
































                           1. When Gabriel has an unpleasant feeling, remember,



















                           it is just cortisol being released – it is a clever way of his




















                           brain telling him something is not ok and action is




















                           needed.






























                           2. The first skill for him to get good at it self-soothing – we’ll




















                           explore that further next week.
































                           3.  By self-soothing, we can calm our brain enough to be able to



















                           problem solve.




































                           4. When calm, help Gabriel to think: “Which of my needs went




















                           wrong for me?”
