Brain Shaping Answers
1. Some children enjoy secure attachments,
positive experiences and plentiful enrichment as
they grow. This builds strong neural circuitry in the
important areas of Executive Functioning Skills.
2. Other children aren’t so lucky: they don’t have such great
experiences or secure attachments and some children suffer
Adverse Childhood Experiences and trauma. Lack of
enriching experiences, poor attachment and adverse
experiences and trauma can all lead to weaker neural
circuitry. This means the child’s skills to focus, regulate
feelings, manage impulses and be flexible are weaker. Is this
their fault? No.
