Brain Shaping Answers
2. Continued:
Some of us may have had great attachments and positive,
enriching experiences yet also have different neural
circuitry – it was just the way we were born. We call this
neurodifference. Examples of neurodifference are autism,
dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD and Tourettes.
People with a neurodifferent profile have a ‘Spiky Profile’.
This means they have strong neural circuitry in some areas
of the brain whilst being ‘wired differently’ in other areas.
Having a spiky profile means there will be some things the
person is really good at; there will be other things the
person finds much trickier than most people their age.
