Why Do Some People Find Thinking Skills
Hard?
2. Not having the right experiences to create
strong brain pathways:
New pathways are built in children’s brains when they
spend time talking, listening, reading stories, visiting new
places and enjoying activities such as jigsaw puzzles,
painting, games and sports.
Some children do not get the help they need to build the
pathways in their Control Centre.
This then means they find some of the Control Centre
Skills like focusing attention and thinking flexibly MUCH
harder.
But it’s never too late!
If you practise these skills
now, you can build new
pathways.
