                                                                                    Hard?

               4. Bad experiences:

Experiences which make a person feel scared or

really upset can stop Thinking Skills from building

              properly in their brain.

                                                                                                 When young people spend

                                                                                                 too long feeling worried or

upset, it can mean the stress

                                                                                                 chemicals in their body

                                                                                                 become too high.

                When stress chemicals are

                high, the person can

                become ‘vulnerable to

                stress’.

                This means that any extra

                difficulty (even a small

                one) can feel really big.

                                                                                                     High levels of stress stop

                                                                                                     well.
