Self-soothing
































                      Today, you explained that when you cry and scream, it is like a release.



















                      We talked about how feelings – both pleasant and unpleasant - are all


















                      part of being human.


























                       When people have difficult experiences, sad feelings are understandable.






























                       It is important to find ways to release our feelings that are ok for others


















                       around us. Self-soothing is an important skill we need in college and work.































































































































































                       You also said you would like to feel better more quickly. I explained that


















                       this is called ‘self-soothing’.























                       I explained that we can get better and faster at self-soothing, if we want


















                       to. It takes lots of practice.
