Strong Flexibility Checklist
SKILL I DEMONSTRATED THIS SKILL
I CAN BE EMOTIONALLY FLEXIBLE & LOOK AT THE WIDER PICTURE
When I am experiencing an unpleasant feeling such as sadness, jealousy, shame
or disappointment, I know it will not last forever and I can think of wider positive
things to help soothe myself.
When something is difficult or unpleasant, I can remember that this will not be
forever and there will be happier moments ahead.
When I am upset by something that has happened, I can take a wider
perspective by thinking of positive things in my life.
I CAN COMPROMISE
I can think of ways to compromise.
I can compromise: I am able to give up a bit of what I would like so that
everyone’s needs are met better.
I can be flexible enough to follow an instruction or direction given by someone
else. I can feel a sense of control over what happens to me even when someone
else is giving the directions.
I can follow someone else’s way of doing something, even if it is different to the
one I felt was best.
