                                  Scaffolds & adjustments for more rigid brains



  ▪ Longer notice of changes / things happening

  ▪ Give plenty of time for exploration and preparation

  ▪ Keep information clear and concise – black and white and not grey

  ▪ Although concise, be specific and give sufficient detail – not vague

  ▪ Be explicit – don’t expect child to second guess / work out intention

  ▪ Avoid use of metaphor


  ▪ Specific deadlines

  ▪ Provide clear choice and decision-making

  ▪ Give autonomy within clear and explicit parameters

  ▪ Be clear about expectations – bring alive with examples and explicit and specific details
