I explained a bit more about Executive Function Skills.

I explained that some people can be incredibly intelligent but still find a

subject difficult because their Executive Function Skills are different to

other people.

We looked at cards which represent the different Executive Function Skills:

The assessments to find out about your brain showed you had some

things your brain is BRILLIANT at (do you remember that if 100 people

stood in a room, you would be better than 98 of them for language!). It

also showed that your brain finds it difficult to stop an automatic thought

for a different one (we call this inhibitory control) and to check things (the

proper word is ‘self-monitoring’.
