Sense of Danger
Begins to mobilise as the sense of danger increases:
Find/Flock:
Looks to the group / attachment figure/s for comfort or protection
▪ Clingy with attachment figure / protests against separation
▪ Flocks / drawn towards peer group
Fawn:
Tries to appease to avoid conflict & decrease chance of harm/rejection
▪ Reasons, complies, placates, peacekeeping
▪ Caretaking, co-dependency
Flight:
▪ Wary, nervous, anxious, panics
▪ Avoids, ignores
▪ Fidgets, moves away, stomps, runs away
▪ Self-soothing or stimulating obsessive
compulsive behaviours, and addictions
Fight:
▪ Irritability, frustration, anger, rage, resistance,
intimidating, aggression, defending, protecting.
