         Questions


      1. The 3 main categories of needs are:


      1. ➢ Physical (basic physical & sensory),
             What are the three key elements of the EA approach when responding in
             the moment (when things have gone wrong / a child is presenting with
         ➢ Emotional (People Around Me & World Around Me)
             an unhelpful behaviour)?

         ➢ Learning needs (the fancy term being Executive Function Skills) and

              the six related skills (Control Centre Skills 2).
      2.     What should an adult do if they cannot regulate their own
             emotions and become calm?
      2. The 6 Physical needs: water, food, sleep, pain free, right

           temperature, physical exercise (feeling fit).
      3.     Why should we connect with a child before we try and help them
             get back on track?
      3. The 6 Sensory needs: light, sound, proprioception, smell, tactile,

           level of interest.
      4.     What are the other benefits of connecting with the child?


      4. The 6 People Around Me needs: cared for and supported by adults;

             What is the difference between being kind and connecting with
      5.   liked by peers; sense of belonging; feeling I count and am an important
             someone?
           part of the group;  feeling ok and accepted as the person I am; feeling

           listened to and understood.
