There is now a better societal understanding of why some
children struggle more than others. We summarise it as:
1 People with neurominority profiles process the
world differently & commonly experience difficulty
in Executive Function. They were just born this way.
Attachment: some children don’t develop the brain
3 circuitry needed to manage the demands placed
upon them due to poor early attachments.
2 Adverse Childhood Experiences & trauma can
lead to toxic stress. Under stress, the brain slows
areas of the brain responsible for Executive Function.
A lack of positive, enriching experiences means
4 strong brain circuitry fails to build. Enriching
experiences are vital for building Executive Function.
