Conclusion
Despite what the smelly socks say, even the worst of malodorous villains confess, as do a lot
of basically good people and both types feel better for it afterwards. If an interview with an
obviously guilty suspect fails (and in reality not many do) you must go back to basics and try
to prove the case by other means, through witnesses, documentary, forensic, technical and
other evidence. But remember, a clear confession speeds up the wheels of justice and saves
taxpayers’ money.
Never give up.
