BETWEEN:
Mr SIGVE SOLHEIM Claimant
and
Mrs. LOUISE PORSCHE JAMIE SIGGERS Defendant 1
FIRST DEFENDANT'S STATEMENT OF ISSUES
A. ABBREVIATED BACKGROUND
1. The First Defendant (FD) believed her relationship with the Claimant was for life
and he assured her it was so. She accepted him into her family and home in Nutley
Place when he was homeless, almost penniless, with few friends and no credit
1
rating. For nine years he was effectively a boarder, who shamelessly underpaid his
share of basic living expenses by an estimated minimum of £163,628.
2. From time to time, he paid the FD additional money, worked on Nutley Place, gave
her and her children gifts. He, and often his two natural children, enjoyed at least
10 free holidays in the FD's parent's villa in Portugal and they were loved as family
members. The Claimant was a good stepfather to the FD's four children and they
were devastated when he left without saying goodbye.
3. Soon after moving into Nutley Place, the Claimant boasted to the FD that he would
become very wealthy from shares he owned in his brother's Norwegian company
(Crusin AS) and that when these were sold, he would make up the shortfall; "and
more".
4. The FD's father cautioned the FD that the Claimant was a "sponger" who was
exploiting her. She defended him by praising his ad hoe payments and gifts and said
that it was better to continue with a deficit because it "made him feel good".
5. The Crusin share sale never materialised but between 2016 and 2018 the Claimant
received over fl.800,000 in compensation and costs from a 2014 road traffic
accident.
