Orion Art Center Pottery
Studio Tour
January 22, 11:00 a.m.
OR February 12, 11:00 a.m. AT ORION ART CENTER
The Oxford Public library is hosting two tours of the Orion Art Center’s Pottery Studio located at Moose Tree Nature Preserve in Lake Orion. The tour of the clay studio will offer an in-depth look at the process of making, bisque firing, glazing, and glaze firing pieces of pottery. The stages of pottery will be discussed (with examples). There will be a demonstration of a slab roller, the pottery wheel, and the extruder in creating functional and decorative art.

Create and glaze a trinket dish at the Orion Art Center
Studio. All tools, supplies provided. The Orion Art Center’s Pottery studio is located on 3191 Clarkston Road, Lake Orion, Michigan 48362. Call the library to register. Space is limited.
The History of Pewabic Pottery

architectural tile studio, ceramic arts education center and vibrant cultural destination that attracts visitors from around the world. Join us as a historian from Pewabic shares their deep history.
