About Us.

Formed in 2004 as GEM Engineering Services, Gemtech (East Anglia) Ltd.
is a wholly owned and run family business. GEM Engineering Services was
re-branded as Gemtech in 2020 after the acquisition of another company.

Our founders are former employees of a large independent pump company
who left that organisation due to it being sold to venture capitalists which,
unfortunately, removed the emphasis on the level of customer service that once was.

Our founders alone have a combined wastewater and pump industry background
totalling over 35 years, one of whom was also the senior engineer for his previous
company for over 17 years.

At Gemtech, our focus is to provide an honest, reliable and friendly service to our
customers. This approach has led us to become one of the most respected service
providers in the pump and wastewater industry.

We will never make promises we cannot keep; we never claim to be the cheapest nor the
‘best in the business’ we are not super human nor infallible. We will, however promise to do
the best we possibly can in all situations whether it be advice, service or emergency. We prefer
that you, our most important asset, be the judge.

There are many organisations out there that claim to be pump or wastewater engineers only to
fail when the going gets tough, particularly on a technical or problem-solving level. Far too often we
get called to site after other ‘engineers’ to rescue a situation that, with a little knowledge and expertise,
would have been relatively simple to put right. By this time, the customer is often hundreds if not
thousands of pounds out of pocket before we or someone else like us can get there and sort things out.
In a large amount of cases, money is the driving force for the company concerned and not customer
service, which is a disgrace.

It would seem that pumps and water services alike have become one of the UK’s biggest cash cows, well
not for us! We would rather have longevity in our business than make a quick score and run away. With
the loyal customer base that we have, we believe many of our customers think the same way as we do.
Businesses need to make money, create jobs and serve the customers correctly, we all agree with that
but there is no need to frankly rip people, companies or individuals off.
