House CourseIs SetBrownstone owners and wouldbe uwucia can u'ulain an insider's view of the space design of the charming row of houses that were built in Brooklyn a century ago by enrolling in a special 15-week course opening Feb. 5 at New York City Community College, 300 Jay St., Brooklyn.The Thursday course, meeting from 6:20 to 8 p.m., will be given by Mrs. Judy Janda, a member of the faculty of the college, who has discovered the advantages and disadvantages that were built into the 97-year-old brownstone she bought a year ago in Brooklyn%u2019s Park Slope section.Her intensive study of plans drawn up by architects of that era and her experimentation in updating her own house has enabled her to develop a unified concept of the best uses of a brownstone of yesterday.For further information about the course call the college%u2019s Division of Continuing Education at 643-5570.Courses AtGardenThe Brooklyn Botanic Garden is offering 28 short courses, ranging from special house plant culture courses to preparing and maintaining an outdoor flower or vegetable garden, during winter and spring 1873.
