Specializing in kitchens and bathrooms, Mr. Spritzer and his staff handle all aspects of construction and alteration including electrical, plumbing and plastering needs. An experienced carpenter for many years, Mr. Spritzer openedGRAPHIC K IIC H tN S in February, 1973 as a companion to his other showroom in the Architect and Design Building in Manhattan. %u201c So many of our customers,%u201d explains Spritzer, \areas of Brooklyn that I knew the Seventh Ave. location was a necessity.\brownstones present special problems to renovators since the needs of today%u2019s brownstone dwellers vary considerably from those of former days. Placing kitchens where none formerly existed, locating plumbing connections, removing plaster to expose brick walls, installing ovens in hearths.. .these are just a few of the recurring aspects of design that GRAPHIC KITCHENS addresses itself to.GRAPHIC KITCHENS%u2019 approach to your construction requirements is direct and forthright. They will visit your home, determine what you wish, make recommendations, take measurements and submit to you a free estimate including labor and materials%u2014 before the actual work gets underway. Both custom designs and ready-made installations are availablethrough GRAPHIC KITCHENS which also guarantees their labor and materials. In the showroom at 125 Seventh Ave%u201e you can browse among floor samples and numerous catalogues of kitchen and bathroom fixtures available.According to Spritzer, despite the variety available, many of his clients choose color formica and oak cabinetry for their kitchens; butcher block counters are next in popularity. Ceramic tile floors are selected by most renovators for their kitchens. Also, in spite of manufacturers' palettes ranging from espresso and antique red to Mexican sand and pink champagne, white is still the most popular color for bathroom fixturing. Demand is growing for suanas, marble sinks, and vanity table set-ups.In addition to working directly with homeowners and landlords, Mr. Spritzer also works with architects, designers and decorators. He has executed many designs for Park Slope AIA architect Harold Einhorn for his many brownstone clients. For Spritzer and GRAPHIC KITCHENS, function is as important as style and lay out gets as muchattention as materials. Workspace needs, room traffic flow, and accessibility deserve as much consideration as color of appliances and details of hardware.GRAPHI C K I T C H E N S %u2019 showroom, 125 Seventh Ave., is open daily from 9 to 5. This resulted in the seven nominees who have since been re-interviewed. Five of the nine members of the Board must agree on the choice for the new superintendent. In an interview with the PHOENIX, Kaplan indicated that the Board would have been content to have the District's two deputy superintendents continue to run the adm inistrative affairs of the District, explaining the long delay in beginning a search for a new superintendent. However, he said, the Central Board of Education would not allow this kind of arrangem ent and notified the District early in 1973 that it must select one superintendent. The decision was made at that time to vait to begin the process until afterthe school board elections last May, after which the solicitation process began. Also on the Board agenda at the March 27 meeting is: a resolution for recission of tenure granted to a teacher at P.S. 130; presentation of a Certificate of Award to Margaret Nichols, Spelling Champion of District 15 discussion of procedures and a status report on selection of a director of funded programs: a resolution for approval of Title I summer programs and a status report on the principal vacancy in P.S. 1.Another item on the agenda is a status report on the use of the old Gas Works site along the Gowanus Canal, which has attracted wide attention in recent weeks. Board President Kaplan said that he had testified at the public hearings before the City Planning Commission and the District Six Community Planning Board against the proposal to use the site for a shopping center development.our Iwioq- W K V t A v W b c i n s a \\ -C\\n DuftAs, 't v o %u2019D ic c\\S s ttCrrGrujtYis, cact\\ \\arcK Qn<\\ S m a U %u2022A n d fill binds a ( s jpw w ^ m i s t'r 5 / jd ft n't ^ nd V qH %u2022 s %u2022%u00ae outdoors rp e c w c - hft n (\\ IKa b a &) - ^ 7 ^ 5T r t w f a r V o r i i t sU t) S t lo 'l^ 'O Z lOn Vi \\ stor\\cJ-T '.JHe said that he was told that he could testify only after discussing the issue at a public school board meeting, despite the fact that the Board had taken a public position in favor of the use of the site as a %u201cpublic place.%u201dHospital PlansContinued from Page 2this should take care of the parking problem that the hospital creates in the neighborhood, and added that if the problem persists, the hospital would consider the building of a multi-level parking garage at the site.It is as yet too early to tell whether the new LICH development plan will meet with general community support within the Cobble Hill neighborhood. Although the planning report was submitted to the state back in January, it has just this week been made available to the community. Several groups contacted by the Phoenix, particularly the Cobble Hill Association and the Civic Action Group, have declined comment until their members can digest the significance of the 100- page report. This for a building that was to be staffed and visited by those caring for the additional beds in this facility, four hundred in all. The mind boggles at the thought of the traffic that was now to descend on our small residential community.L.I.C.H. most assuredly needs modernization and does have W.A.C.C.H.%u2019s support, but only with the proviso that L.I.C.H. provides the community with an Environmental and Traffic Study, and moves to solve the parking problems they have created.Pier No.8 is not a solution, since it is the same distance from L.I.C.H. as the Municipal Garage. We are left dangling with the words, %u201cIf this search proves unfruitful an underground and low rise garage will be built on the corner of Henry and Pacific Streets.
