According to NormanNachbar, the district%u2019s financial officer, theCentral Board has not yet processed the taxlevy budget completely into the District'ssystem. Tax levy funds are allocated basedon the number of children in the district andat the board%u2019s executive session, he suggested that the Central Board projectionswere not in line with the district%u2019s projectionsfor the year. A meeting is scheduled on Oct.31 with Judy Soloman, the director of operations and review for the Central Board ofEducation, to seek to reconcile the gapin projections.%u201cIt%u2019s important to remember that all thebudgets are based on projections,%u201d Nachbarsaid after the meeting. He adds that he is%u201cconcerned%u201d about the deficit but says that itis not unusual for the board to be operating ona deficit budget at the beginning of the schoolyear. With a $40 million budget in District 15,the amount of the deficit represents one percent of the entire budget.The next regular monthly meeting of Community School Board 15 members is scheduled for Nov. 20 at I.S. 88, 330 18th Street. Apublic hearing will be held prior to themeeting to being the selection process for anew superintendent. The hearing begins at7pm and the regularly scheduled boardmeeting starts at 8pm. The artists%u2019 residencies at the schools are for 24 days each.
